Limited to Worcester Area Residents
The Central and North Central Region MassHire Workforce Boards have partnered with CMSC-Parker Professional Driving School and New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTTS) to implement a three-year Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A and CDL-B) training program that offers free training and job placement to 176 participants seeking stable, full-time, living-wage employment.
The $870,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Workforce Competitive Trust Fund addresses current and projected demand among Central Massachusetts businesses for entry-level CDL-certified drivers.
“[With this grant], we’re planning specific activities to inform, engage, and recruit women (especially women of color), veterans, BIPOC individuals, re-entering citizens, New Americans, and individuals with limited English proficiency or who don’t have postsecondary education,” said Jeff Roberge, Executive Director of the MassHire North Central Region Workforce Board.
