Expanding Apprenticeships in IT & Tech-Adjacent Fields
The MCRWB is pleased to announce our participation in the national Tech Quest Apprenticeship program (TQA Clark). Led by Clark University, this U.S. Department of Labor-funded initiative includes a national consortium of workforce development boards and training partners. Over the next four years, coordinating with regional employers and organizations who currently offer IT and Tech-related apprenticeships, consortium members will provide 4,000 pre-apprenticeships and 1,000 IT and IT-related apprenticeships to unemployed, underemployed, and incumbent workers.
Through existing apprenticeship programs–including MassMEP’s Front Line Supervisor and the Worcester Joint Apprenticeship and Training Fund Inside Journeyman-Wireman–workers will receive valuable on-the-job and related instruction, gain employment, and increase their wages as they improve their tech skills and climb the career ladder.
