Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)

The Commonwealth provides equal opportunity in state employment to all persons. No person shall be denied equal access because of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or physical/mental disability. The Commonwealth applies affirmative action measures to correct deficiencies in the state employment system where those remedies are appropriate. Executive Order 592 and the Mass General Laws c 151B, §4.1 prohibit discrimination on the basis of protected status.

Affirmative Action Programs (AA)

In accordance with Executive Order 592 and applicable federal laws, the Commonwealth promotes affirmative action in employment. We are committed to identifying areas of underrepresentation and working with Executive Departments to develop strategies that will remedy underrepresentation and/or demonstrate “good faith” efforts toward a remedy. We incorporate metrics and analytics to monitor our progress. Discover Worcester County’s benchmark numbers at Massachusetts Census 2020 Employment by State and Local Occupational Groups.
